The Mobile Unit Operator supporting the Veteran Evaluation Services (VES) administered by Maximus, make an impact everyday by maintaining, stocking, and transporting the mobile unit to scheduled clinic locations safely, on time and in accordance with company policies. Additionally, the mobile unit operator will function as a Clinic Intake Specialist for the mobile unit appointments. The Mobile Unit Operator is a public-facing role providing punctual, solutions-oriented customer experience to Veterans and VES providers with a caring and positive attitude.
Primary Responsibilities:
Works with Domestic Travel Team on route creation and trip timelines
Transports the mobile unit to clinic locations safely, on time, and in accordance with applicable traffic laws and company policies
Assists with the loading, unloading, set-up, and tear down of equipment at mobile sites, including displaying snacks/water/flags/veteran material in the waiting area and post VES signs in the vicinity
Performs or facilitates basic routine maintenance and interior cleaning services for mobile unit and its associated equipment, including inspecting mobile unit before and after each trip, maintaining a log of vehicle mileage and condition, completing regular medical supply inventory, reporting items to be ordered to Clinic Director/Manager and replenishing stock of clinic/medical supplies
Keeps current on weather forecast, routing, roadwork, or any other event likely to impact the punctuality or safety of transporting the mobile unit and appropriately reports concerns in a timely way to stakeholders
Follows all company policies regarding safety and upkeep of conditions/equipment and adheres to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies
Displays snacks/water/flags/veteran material in the providers’ waiting area and posts VES signs at the door
Facilitates the check-in/check-out process and manages sign in sheet
Greets each Veteran immediately and gathers medical records or diagnostic results
Supplies information to the providers (facesheets, medication list, other medical records), and assists with vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure)
Documents and updates system comments for services pertaining to Veterans and providers
Keeps all Veterans’ information private and confidential
Communicates in a courteous and respectful manner while assisting in any way needed
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Travels out of the state and/or stay overnight at clinic locations along trip route required
Performs a wide range of administrative duties including but not limited to: reminder calls and electronic data entry via computer, telephone, email, and e-fax
Communicates and assists other departments in a collaborative effort to expedite cases
Adapts to new instructions, requests or procedures maintaining a high sense of urgency
Minimum Qualifications:
GED or high school diploma
Flexible availability to work weekends as needed
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, beginner knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and general internet research
Knowledge of applicable safety practices and standards of vehicle operation, basic vehicle mechanics, and medical terminology
Organizational and prioritization skills
Must be able to lift, move, or carry materials weighing up to fifty pounds
Preferred Experience:
1 year experience driving large commercial vehicles
1 year experience in a healthcare setting
Customer service experience
Previous experience with mobile medical, phlebotomy etc. unit
Pay and Benefits:
Great pay based on experience and will range from $25.00- $30.00 / hour
